The international eyewear trade show, which occupied 7 pavilions of the exhibition area and counted more than 1,200 exhibitors, recorded around 40 thousand visitors in the 3 days of the show, marking +11% compared to last year.
The increase was distributed equally between Italians and foreigners. The latter, in particular, arrived from 160 countries around the world, from Asia to the United States, passing through all of Europe. “Before the opening of the show we hoped for an increase in visitors compared to last year. Thanks to everyone's work and the trust that the sector gives us every year, we have achieved the ambitious goal set - comments Giovanni Vitaloni, President of MIDO.
Among the exhibitors' stands we noted good sales performances and an extreme interest on the part of the buyers, also present thanks to the collaboration with the ICE Agency, for Made in Italy as synonymous with quality, excellence and transparency.
The presence of the entire supply chain guaranteed dynamism and diversity of supply and demand, confirming MIDO as the only exhibition in the sector with this characteristic".
The success of the eyewear fair also passes through its visibility in traditional media, such as newspapers, radio and TV, social networks and digital platforms, not only in Italy but also abroad. This year, around 400 journalists were accredited at the fair and over 150 reports were published in the 3 days of MIDO alone in Italian, French, German, Argentine, English, American, Indian and Dutch media, to name just a few.
The online activity of the many users who interact with the salon via the internet is also equally significant. 50% more people were reached on social channels compared to last year and the event contents generated over 2,000,000 impressions.
The interactions were over 250,000 and the App was downloaded by 25% more users, with a considerable increase in the usage rate, also thanks to the new tool for exhibitors which allowed visitors to register at the stands.
The digital platform MIDO 2024 | Digital Edition, which has almost 12 thousand members, has seen an increase in showcase pages, going from 650 units in 2023 to 845 in this year, demonstrating how exhibitors consider it increasingly strategic to combine in-person participation with virtual activity.
But MIDO is also culture, contamination, discussion on the future of the sector, interaction between practical solutions and perspectives. The next appointment with MIDO will be from 8 to 10 February 2025 at Fieramilano Rho.
